Quick Healthy Breakfast Recipes

A balanced breakfast does not need to take more than five minutes. The trick is pairing protein and fiber so you stay full and focused until lunch. Here are five of our go-to options for hectic mornings.

The formula

Aim for protein + fiber + a little healthy fat at breakfast. Protein keeps you satisfied, fiber slows digestion, and fat adds flavor and staying power. Together they help prevent the mid-morning crash.

1. Greek yogurt power bowl

Plain Greek yogurt topped with berries, a tablespoon of ground flaxseed and a sprinkle of nuts. About 20 grams of protein in under two minutes.

2. Overnight chia oats

Mix oats, chia seeds, milk and a spoonful of yogurt the night before. In the morning, add fruit and cinnamon. Make three jars on Sunday for an easy start to the week.

3. Avocado egg toast

Whole-grain toast with mashed avocado, a jammy egg and everything-bagel seasoning. Add cherry tomatoes or spinach for extra color.

4. Five-minute veggie scramble

Two eggs scrambled with whatever greens and leftover vegetables you have, plus a spoonful of beans or a slice of whole-grain bread on the side.

5. Berry ginger smoothie

Blend frozen berries, a handful of spinach, fresh ginger, Greek yogurt or protein powder, and milk. Perfect when you need breakfast to-go.

Make it even easier

  • Keep hard-boiled eggs in the fridge for grab-and-go protein
  • Pre-portion smoothie packs in the freezer
  • Store toppings (nuts, seeds, granola) in jars on the counter where you can see them
